Polaroid’s powerful little Cube, waterproofing your sounds and tracking lost property

Polaroid Cube

Lots of all-action personal HD cams out there but none with the charm of Polaroid’s tiny new Cube. The toy-like aesthetic belies its full-on video hardware, with 124-degree wide angle lens, integrated mic and 2GB memory – upgradable to 32GB with Micro SD – and full 1080 HD capture. All signs of Polaroid’s inventive reinvention. Powerful magnets top and bottom keep it in place for impulse uses. There’s a whole range of customised Cube attachments for helmets, tripods, bikes, etc. And its 35mm cubed body is also waterproof.

Trackr

Along with innovations like Tile, Trackr is another product to help keep you and your possessions united. In Trackr's case, the credit-card size is targeted to connect your phone and wallet or purse. It uses low-energy Bluetooth to pair with a smartphone. Misplace the mobile and you use the Trackr unit to ring it, even if on silent. Lose your wallet or bag and the phone will give you a proximity range and you can ring it back too. And if it's gone walkabout entirely once any other Trackr happens within range you'll get the GPS location sent to you. Will Trackr find its own missing vowel though?

Waterfi waterproof headphones

Waterfi has featured here previously with its clever 100 per cent waterproofing for personal electronics. Here’s an obvious extension: own-brand waterproof earphones for swimmers, surfers or anyone crashing about in the wet outdoors. These are good for 10ft underwater and come with four sets of silicone earbuds to suit various uses. The standard 3.5mm jack is gold-plated to fight corrosion and another easy win is the short cord, only about 27cm, to keep it out of the way as you’re working out.
