Temple Bar square reopens
Next weekend sees the long awaited reopening of Meeting House Square in Temple Bar.
The popular outdoor venue will reopen on Saturday, December 10th, with the return of Temple Bar’s food market to the new all-weather space.
To celebrate the reopening of the square, following the installation of four giant umbrellas by Temple Bar Cultural Trust (TBCT), the popular ‘Movies on the Square’ returns with two family movies showing on December 15th and 22nd, and a special Christmas gig by Kila on December 23rd.
Rewarding the tour operators
At the Inaugural Travel Media Awards in Dublin this week, Aer Lingus won the award for best short haul airline, while Etihad took the honours in the long haul airline category. Best Irish Hotel went to the Sheen Falls Lodge in Kenmare.
The awards, which are voted for by members of the media, were also presented to Topflight (Best Tour Operator), GoHop.ie (Best Online Travel Agent), Northern Ireland Tourist Board (Best Tourist Board or Convention Visitors Bureau), Cassidy Travel (Best Travel Agent) and Tour America (Best use of Social Media by a travel company in Ireland).
Austria, Spain, Paris and the US emerged as the best locations for ski, summer, citybreak and worldwide holidays respectively.
