Richard Lewis vamps it up

Richard Lewis's bold, bright colours are a sign of the times and changing tastes

Richard Lewis's bold, bright colours are a sign of the times and changing tastes. Previously associated with clingy jerseys in colours such as midnight blue, black and navy, his new eveningwear is in a much stronger palette of scarlet, purple, electric blue and kingfisher, often with batwing sleeves, draped and cinched at the waist.

Coats and little fitted jackets in boucle wool come in more sober shades of brown and olive green for daywear. New this season is a fabric called fish-scale crepe, which he has used in red silk for this trench coat, which is striking enough for day or evening wear. It's a variation on a popular one he did last season in a magenta organza. Richard Lewis is at 22 South Frederick Street, Dublin 2, 01-6797016.
