Next week on the Life pages we will be exploring loneliness from every angle in our series All the Lonely People.

Loneliness is a huge issue for many people when they move to another country, away from their established support networks. One in three Irish emigrants recently surveyed by Crosscare said being away from family and friends was the biggest challenge of living away from home, with 72 per cent saying they experienced homesickness at least once a month. Fourteen per cent said they felt homesick at least once a day.

Trouble finding work, and struggling to adapt to a new environment or to meet new people were other reasons cited by respondents as contributing to feelings of loneliness.

We want to hear from readers abroad about their experience of loneliness. Are you lonely? Have you ever experienced feelings of isolation? What has helped you overcome those feelings?
