A bicycle is the ultimate green piece of kit, but keeping it stored safely without dripping oil all over the sitting-room floor, especially in a city, can be a challenge.
This bike shed, from UK company Trimetals, is a neat and elegant solution to the problem. It can store up to three bikes, comes in a flat-pack, which the manufacturers insist is almost idiot-proof to assemble, and will slot into narrow spaces in tight backyards. The opening action of the shed is spring assisted, and it comes in a variety of colours. At £429 (about €475), it’s not cheap, but the build quality is excellent and the company has payment plans to soften the blow. 00-44-1258-459441, www.trimetals.co.uk.
