A status yellow fog alert is in effect across Ireland warning of impaired visibility across the island overnight and into Sunday morning.
Met Éireann issued the warning for 6pm Saturday to 9am Sunday. It said conditions would be generally dry and calm on Saturday with some sunny spells as drizzle which has impacted some areas this morning clears away.
There was likely to be some mist and fog throughout the day before the fog becomes more dense this evening.
Gradual snow melt could lead to localised flooding, Met Éireann also warned.

It is expected to feel cool with highest temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees.
Saturday night is expected to be foggy with showers in Ulster early on but otherwise dry with clear spells. Cloud is likely to build in the southwest and west later, bringing patches of drizzle, and moderate south-easterly winds will develop.
Sunday should see any overnight mist and fog clearing in the morning. Most areas are set to be dry for the day with some sunny spells. The forecast is for breezy conditions with a moderate to fresh southerly wind and temperatures gradually rising through the day, with values of 7 to 11 degrees in the afternoon.
It is expected to be milder next week as a southerly airflow becomes established over the country, but it will feel rather cloudy with patches of light rain or drizzle at times.
