We’ve become gradually more besotted with MS MR as the months have gone on – our love influenced not least by lead singer Lizzy Plapinger’s blue hair, and the fact that she’s a founder member of Neon Gold Records (who released singles by Marina and the Diamonds, Ellie Goulding and Icona Pop). Fantasy is loopy and gulpy with more of an emotional core than their glitchy noir-pop of yore. It’s as if Sia wrote a Florence track, and Greg Kurstin got his hands on it. And the video has cheerleaders vomiting glitter. Amazing.

Kate Nash has explained how she found refuge in music after a difficult year, that involved a break-up, the death of a close friend, and a split with her record label. She told the Independent: “I really don’t want to destroy myself in this process. I only seek destruction through music. It’s cathartic for me, and I love what I do. I’m not trying to be cool.”

She went on: “I dont give a shit about any of that. The whole point of being a musician is to be there for the outsider, and to empower young women.” Our Kate is blazing a trail of her own: “I’ve been slated for the way I look, for being too fat, too ugly, too spotty. I’ve been attacked for my personality, for where I’m from. But you know what? I’m older now. I’m more mature. I don’t care what anyone thinks, not anymore.” G’wan!

We’re so pleased that Fergie Ferg is going to have a baby. And that she announced it in the best possible way. The Black Eyed Peas singer tweeted: “Josh Me BABY makes three!!! #mylovelybabybump”. Fergie’s married to actor Josh Duhamel, and the pair have already negotiated how many children they’d like – last year Fergie told Oprah: “We negotiated that early on. Two is our number.”
