Twenty-four glorious voices filled a room in the Mansion House, Dublin, last weekend, as part of the Irish Youth Chamber Choir’s short spring tour.

The choir, aged 18 to 28, drawn from the long established Irish Youth Choir two years ago, is conducted by Greg Beardsell. They performed with Elbow at Electric Picnic and sold out concerts in Dublin, Cork and Kilkenny. Many such singers have gone on to become professionals, from Julie Feeney to Mairéad Buicke and Robin Tischler. The tour takes in Cork (March 2nd), Donegal (March 9th) and Drogheda (April 20th). Beardsell and members of the choir lead choral workshops in schools alongside the tour. See aoic.ie/iyc/
