Even in this age of austerity, Brighton's Go! Team have little truck with the "less is more" maxim. As was the case on Thunder, Lightning, Strikeand Proof of Youth, nearly every track on the Team's third album comes close to toppling over, such is the zealous overpacking of sounds and genres. Such DayGlo sugar highs provide plenty of fun, but there's often a nagging sense that the group's maximalist, magpie tendencies are amplified to compensate for the lack of strong, unique ideas. Ian Parton and friends do attempt to address this by bringing in guests, including Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino (who appears on the title track) and French singer Lispector (splendid on gorgeous the 1960s throwback Ready to Go Steady). But when the guests step down, the band return to sipping from the giddy juice, with sometimes mixed results. See thegoteam.co.uk
