UTV to expand Republic interests

UTV, the Belfast-based broadcasting to Internet service provider, will seek further radio acquisitions in the Republic if the opportunity arises in the South's current regulatory environment.

Following its recent acquisition of 60 per cent of Cork-based County Media for £17.3 million, UTV managing director Mr John McCann believes the group is now well placed to explore further opportunities to diversify.
