The Irish Society for European Law (Isel) is tonight hosting a seminar, Comparing Experiences: The ECHR in Ireland and the United Kingdom, at 6.30pm in the Ormond Building, 31-36 Ormond Quay Upper, Dublin 7.

The speakers are Prof Conor Gearty (professor of human rights at LSE, founder member Matrix Chambers) and Donncha O’Connell (lecturer in NUI Galway).

New chairman at Arthur Cox

Ciarán Bolger has been appointed chairman of Arthur Cox from May 1st. A partner in the firm’s corporate department, he joined the firm in 1992 and has been a partner since 1997. He succeeds Eugene McCague, who has completed two terms as chairman, having previously served as managing partner, and will return to full-time client work.
