Irish fashion chain Fran&Jane retained a loss of €15,119 in the year to the end of January, according to accounts just filed at the Companies Office. This compared to a profit of €29,446 recorded by the women’s clothing brand in the previous 12-month period.
Abridged accounts for Fran Jane Ltd show the firm, run by mother and daughter Fran and Laura Nolan, had shareholder funds of more than €300,000 as of the end of the accounting period. Its net current assets were stated as €179,746.
In May 2010, Fran&Jane opened an outlet on the King’s Road, the iconic fashion street, in Chelsea, London, marking its first foray into the British market. The firm has 11 boutiques, including one in Belfast, and a concession in Arnotts in Dublin.
The directors of the company, based in Blackrock, Dublin, are Fran Nolan and Jane Baker, with Ms Nolan holding a 51 per cent share. Laura Nolan joined the company in recent years.
Ms Nolan and Ms Baker first made their foray into the retail sector in the 1970s with the formation of the Regine label.
