Grant Thornton announces 71 new jobs for Belfast

Professional services firm Grant Thornton is to create 71 jobs in Belfast.

The announcement was made at the official opening of the company’s new offices in the city on Thursday.

Invest NI has provided a £202,000 employment grant to support the jobs.

Grant Thornton’s practice in Belfast has been trading for over 100 years. The company provides independent assurance, tax and advisory services.

Enterprise, trade and investment minister Jonathan Bell said the jobs will create an additional £1.2 million per annum for the local economy.

“With roles available across a variety of functions, these jobs will provide a wide range of opportunities for people at various stages of their career, from school leavers to experienced professionals,” said Mr Bell.

“This decision to expand is a boost for Northern Ireland’s economy and further emphasises the value which Grant Thornton places on the skilled and educated workforce available here,” he added.
