MANAGEMENT at the Craigavon based food processing company, Moy Park, which has been sold for an undisclosed sum to the US firm OSI Industries, says the deal will allow it to develop its business globally to a greater extent than had been possible when it was a privately owned independent company.

Moy Park said the link with OSI would enable it to continue its evolution from a poultry specialist into a fully fledged food company. OSI is one of the world's largest food processing companies. The president of its international division, Mr Doug Gallang, said. "Having analysed the future potential of poultry sales, we decided that Moy Park is an excellent fit within the group.

Moy Park's managing director, Mr Trefor Campbell, said the harsh facts of life in today's market meant that the company would have to accept change.
