JLS Software Solutions, the company co-founded by former international rugby player Mr John Sexton, has raised $5 million (€5.9 million), in a deal to finance its international expansion.

The investment consortium was led by Trinity Venture Capital Ltd, part of the Reihill Venture Capital Group and including Alliance Investment Capital, whose prime shareholder is the venture capital arm of Royal Bank of Scotland, and Davy Stockbrokers.

JLS Software Solutions provides retail delivery solutions to banks. Its JLS Software Solutions product, FPS Voy@ger, uses Internet technology to enable banks to provide a single software solution across each of its channels to market.

The company was founded in 1997 by Mr John Sexton, who is now chief executive of JLS Software Solutions, Mr John Lynch, Mr Dakshesh Patel and Mr Robert Johnston.
