Claws out among old Dolmen crew

Some class of a dispute has arisen between Kevin Beary and his former employer

There’s a bit of a row brewing amongst the old Dolmen Stockbrokers crew.

Dolmen is now known as Cantor Fitzgerald Ireland, after the US giant bought the brokerage towards the end of 2012.

Two years before this, Kevin Beary, who ran Dolmen Corporate Finance, left to go out on his own. He set up a company called Hedgecroft, trading as Beary Capital Partners, and bought a pipeline of business from Dolmen, which holds a charge over Hedgecroft's assets.

Some class of a dispute has arisen between Beary and his former employer over the financial terms of the contract. You can bet your bottom euro both sides will make competing claims. It’s how these things usually go.

Beary has lobbed in a High Court action against Htamretfa (that's aftermath backwards, in case you're not a savant), which used to be Dolmen Securities. Htamrefta Corporate Finance and Cantor Fitzgerald Ireland are also respondents in the debt case.

Neither side was available for comment this week. Too busy talking to their lawyers, no doubt.

Meanwhile, the High Court database also throws up an ongoing summary judgment debt action by AIB against Beary personally, which was filed on September 11th, of all days.
