ESB wins €7.7m contract

ESB Independent Energy has won a €7

ESB Independent Energy has won a €7.7 million contract to supply power to the Garda Siochana, Prison Services and the Defence Forces.

ESBIE will supply 76 million units of electricity under this contract which it states will means significant savings for all three organisations.

The competitive tender consisted of seven tranches, of which ESBIE won five. The contract was awarded by the Department of Finance following submissions from the different independent energy providers.

ESBIE will now deliver power to Garda headquarters, the training college in Templemore, the prison facilities, Air Corp, and Army and Naval installations throughouth the State.

ESBIE is a wholly owned company within the ESB group. It has won major contract with Croke Park, Tesco, BT and Superquinn.
