Worldwide sales of computer chips jumped 39.4 per cent in October from a year earlier, topping a record $18.66 billion in sales, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) said yesterday. "Sales were strong in all geographic markets and most product sectors," said Mr George Scalise, SIA president.
