The Central Bank of Ireland published a warning notice naming two firms operating as unauthorised investment business firms in Ireland. The warning notice named Barrington Consultants (the Philippines) and Transglobal Consultants (Thailand). The firms have been recommending the purchase of shares to the members of the public, the Bank said.

It is a criminal offence for an investment firm to operate in Ireland unless it has Central Bank authorisation and clients of unauthorised firms are not eligible for compensation from the investor compensation scheme.
