Mr John Cradden, a graduate of Dublin City University's MA Journalism course and regular contributor to The Irish Times, has won first place in the Irish Science and Technology Journalist's Association annual competition to find the New Science & Technology Journalist of the Year.

Mr Cradden won the competition with an article that appeared in Irish Computer magazine, entitled "The Great Enabler". In his winning submission he investigated ways in which better use of existing technologies can help bridge the digital divide which has marginalised many disabled people in Irish society.
