Even the notoriously back-slapping acting profession comes a poor second to the Irish advertising industry when it comes to the number of awards it gives itself.
Next week alone there are two awards ceremonies in the diaries of advertising and marketing people, the Poster Awards on March 25th and the Sales Promotion Awards on Friday 26th. So it was only a matter of time before someone came up with gongs for web advertisements. The Irish Marketing Journal is now planning the first Irish Internet Advertising Awards with a ceremony scheduled for sometime in September.
