Aberdeen earnings double

Aberdeen Asset Management, whose Irish subsidiary claims to be the largest independent investment manager in the Republic, doubled profits last year to €57.6 million (£45.4 million). The bulk of the growth came from an increase in new business from €1.6 billion to €5.4 billion.
