Business to business networking expert BusinessRiver is a prominent backer of Ireland’s busy construction sector. Among the services BusinessRiver provides to support the wide range of construction skills is its organising and hosting of four major industry awards. These showcase and celebrate the best talent in Ireland, each with an independent judging panel of industry leaders.
These awards are:
· The Irish Construction Industry Awards
· The Building & Architect of the Year Awards

· The Facilities Management Awards
All four awards have grown in stature every year since inception. Tens of thousands of people engage with the events.
But to BusinessRiver, awards nights are not just about showing off and celebrating success. There’s a serious side to the networking opportunities that these leading industry events offer. Contacts made over a glass of fizz and while giving, or getting, a pat on the back lead to business meetings, mentoring and sharing of best practice. The informal becomes the formal as sure as night becomes day.
But BusinessRiver cannot do this alone. It always seeks partners that share its vision of providing knowledge sharing and building communities within the industries in which it operates.
Awards, and the networking opportunities that go with them, rely on sponsorship and endorsement to prosper. In the construction sector that support has come from internal office building contractor Globoserv. It has signed a four-way deal to be Industry Solution Provider at the awards.
This is a new senior-level sponsorship position to allow Globoserv to influence senior managers across industry sectors and has seen the company expand from its core fit out sector sponsorship.
Globoserv is a private company that has carried out more than 10,000 projects over its 18 years. It specialises in fit outs for offices, retail, banking, communications, data centres, hotels, hospitals and pharmaceuticals. It employs more than 150 skilled workers and can have as many as 30 vehicles on the road at any one time. Its focus is on six main building disciplines:
· Fit out
· Air conditioning
· Electrical
· Mechanical
· Audio visual
· Facilities management
Globoserv is supporting the four awards to make new connections and to deepen existing ones. It wants to tell the sector about its work but also to learn from others and constantly improve. An innovative industry is always adapting to new regulations, materials and technologies and Globoserv wants to take a lead in that by enabling the BusinessRiver awards and the networking communities that spring from those awards.
David Burke, managing director at Globoserve said: “Each year the entries are more and more impressive across all categories and the standard of the talent and hard work is truly exceptional. Acknowledgement of a company’s efforts and competence within the sector is beneficial for business and the awards nights offer an opportunity to network, meet potential clients and exchange innovative ideas. These awards are fantastic events to conclude a year of hard work and success.”
Awards organiser Kevin O’Driscoll, Director Partner Programme said: “It’s great to see a company as prestigious as Globoserv supporting our aim of sharing the highest standards of fit out to the widest possible community of construction industry talent in Ireland.”
All four of the awards events are devised and organised by BusinessRiver, a company engaging with 30 business communities, sectors, sub-sectors and professions, giving them a platform to showcase the exceptional standards being reached across Irish business.
Hundreds of companies submit entries each year across the four categories of awards and an independent panel of judges scores each entry to create a shortlist before judging the winners. Once the finalists are announced, the industry sectors come together for a gala awards evening to celebrate success and to network with peers. Each of the awards evenings is growing year on year.
