Waterford - 3 Bray Wanderers - 0: Waterford United recorded their second successive victory and their first home win in the league when they overcame fellow strugglers Bray Wanderers in a fiercely-contested game at the RSC last night.
Waterford opened the scoring on 36 minutes when Gerard McCarthy played through a Pat Flynn throw-in from the right to Alan Cawley who beat the offside trap and drilled the ball past goalkeeper Chris O'Connor from close range.
Substitute Robert Brosnan got the second goal on 72 minutes when he pounced on a poor kick-out by Chris O'Connor and raced 30 yards with defenders in his wake before unleashing a low, hard shot into the corner of the net.
Darryl Kavanagh added the finishing touch in the 94th minute when the visitors' defence was caught square by a long ball from Stephen Grant and the substitute raced through to crash the ball high into the net from 15 yards out.
