Wales await news on Charvis

Wales captain Colin Charvis will not know until later this week whether he will be fit to face Ireland in Dublin on Sunday. Charvis suffered a dislocated finger during Wales's 23-10 victory over Scotland last Saturday.

The 65 times-capped back-row forward sought medical advice yesterday.

Wales coach Steve Hansen is due to announce his starting line-up tomorrow night.

Hooker Robin McBryde and lock Robert Sidoli missed the Scotland game through injuries but are set to return to training today, with Cardiff Blues wing Craig Morgan.

Squad hooker Gareth Williams faces a further scan on his injured shoulder today, while wing Garan Evans is also being closely assessed. Utility back Hal Luscombe is a doubt after picking up a knock to his knee playing for the Gwent Dragons, last Friday night.

England captain Lawrence Dallaglio and Rome hat-trick hero Jason Robinson face fitness checks in the build-up to next weekend's Calcutta Cup clash against Scotland at Murrayfield.

Clive Woodward - medical bulletins permitting - looks set to announce an unchanged team for Saturday's Edinburgh mission. But the England medical staff will assess Dallaglio, who has a swollen hand after he was the victim of a stray Italian boot.
