Under-21 Football Ulster Final/ Tyrone 0-12 Derry 1-7: Tyrone will be without ace attacker Damien "Daisy" McDermott for next weekend's All-Ireland under-21 semi-final against Mayo, after the corner forward was one of three players sent off during Tyrone's slender Ulster final win over Derry at Ballybofey.

All three dismissals were for second bookings, but this was McDermott's second such offence in recent weeks, and a ban is, therefore, automatic.

Tyrone raced into a six-point lead inside the opening half - with Justin McMahon, Colm Cavanagh, McDermott and Finbar Magill all on target. But Bateson and Cathal O'Kane helped the Oak Leafers claw their way back, and at the break it was 0-8 to 0-5.

Barry McGoldrick bagged a goal two minutes into the second half, before Bateson gave Derry the lead for the first time. But after Derry's James Bateson was dismissed, Tyrone seized the initiative, with Martin McCreesh thumping over two late points.
