Terenure dart up three places

ALL -IRELAND LEAGUE: TERENURE - 38 BUCCANEERS -6:A bonus point earned from four well-taken tries allowed Terenure move up three places in the league table in this comprehensive win over Buccaneers at Lakelands.

Buccaneers had only a dropped goal by outhalf Colm Glynn to show for their early efforts and Terenure struck back immediately for Richard Governey to land a penalty. Governey added another penalty five minutes later as Terenure took command.

The first of their tries came after 25 minutes when Michael Quinn crashed over from a ruck after a storming run by Dermot Blaney. Governey kicked his third penalty just before half-time.

Buccaneers had a reasonably good patch in the early exchanges of the second half, climaxed by a penalty from Glynn, but Terenure increased their margin with tries by Brendan Kavanagh, Philip Costelloe and captain Shane Cullen, each of which Governey converted. David McAllister tacked on a marvellous long-range penalty just before full-time.
