Super Lucky makes it a super day

Swords man Frank Sheridan (49), has just collected a cheque for a record €194,224.82 from Boylesports bookmakers.

The bet, which was a 50 cent each way Yankee and a €2 each way accumulator, included the aptly named horse Super Lucky on Monday.

This was a record payout for any Boylesports outlet.

Sheridan, who works in a timber merchants in Coolock, has six children, five boys and a girl, and is now planning a big celebration for his son's wedding.

He is a regular punter with Boylesports, Swords, and selected the four horses using tips from the morning papers. When picking his horses he generally likes to select runners with healthy prices.

"I never dreamed of winning such a huge amount of money with such a small bet," he said. "After three of the four horses came in I was set to win €1,500 and was delighted, but when the fourth horse, Super Lucky, came in and I realised I had won over €190,000 I was over the moon."

When he was asked what his plans for the money were, he said: "With six children I think everyone knows where the money will be going."
