Tomorrow's Special Stage event in Co Wexford marks the end of the busiest year for Irish rallying. Starting from Courtown Harbour, the co-promoted event (Garda Siochana Motor Club and Wexford MC), will be run over closed roads from Inch to Woodenbridge.

The premier event in Irish motorcycle trials is the Irish Experts Trial, the 44th running of which takes place tomorrow at the Lead Mines, Newtownards. First run in 1955, the prestigious award for the winner is the Donat Gill Trophy presented by the Gill family of Dublin in memory of their father who had long links with car and motorcycle sport in Ireland.

At the halfway stage of the MCUI Southern Centre Championship, Paul McLoughlin on 115 points has a big lead over Brian McLoughlin in Grade A. Other division leaders are: Keith Callaghan (B), Frank Blackbyrne (C), Terry Shone (D), Johnny Carroll (Junior A) and Philip Lyons (Junior B). Round 7 is the Dublin & District MCC's event on January 14th.
