Tuesday's international friendly between Northern Ireland and Wales will go ahead at Windsor Park as scheduled having received full insurance cover for the fixture, the Irish Football Association have confirmed.

Despite an independent report claiming the venue was a fire risk, the IFA said the match will go ahead but with a ban on smoking in one stand.

A statement said: "The Irish Football Association confirmed today that the providers of the Association Public Liability Insurance have deemed that full cover will be provided to allow the Nationwide International - Northern Ireland v Wales on Tuesday night to go ahead as planned.

"Speaking on the matter, the IFA's chief executive Howard Wells has said that this cover will be for the match against Wales only, but more significant work at Windsor Park will be required with regards to fire safety matters before the next match.
