Uefa have opened disciplinary proceedings against AC Milan and goalkeeper Dida over the incident that marred their Champions League clash at Celtic last week.

The Brazilian was involved in an incident with a Celtic fan following Scott McDonald's dramatic injury-time winner for the Scottish club.

The supporter, Robert McHendry (27), ran on to the pitch and confronted Dida.  As he crossed the goalmouth, McHendry appeared to slap the goalkeeper on the shoulder.

Dida briefly gave chase before dramatically going to ground.   He was then stretchered off the field of play.

Speaking post-game, AC Milan manager Carlo Ancelotti said Dida's reaction was "a mistake".

The case against Milan and the player will be heard on Thursday by Uefa's disciplinary committee, who will also make a decision on charges against Celtic on the same day.
