Soccer:TV3 has agreed a new contract with Uefa to continue broadcasting Champions League fixtures on Tuesday nights  until 2015. The station will also continue to show Europa League matches on Thursdays for another three years.

TV3, who recorded their highest ever Champions League audience last week for Chelsea’s dramatic win over Barcelona at the Camp Nou which peaked at 1.1 million viewers, finalised the new deal for Champions League rights yesterday.

“This is more great news for TV3 and 3e on top of their continued audience growth so far in 2012 and we are delighted to be continuing our relationship with Uefa which has been so fantastic for us over many years,” TV3’s director of programmes Ben Frow said.

RTÉ Sport has secured the rights to Champions League games on Wednesday nights while satellite broadcaster Setanta Sports will continue to show the competition on the Setanta Ireland and Setanta Sports 1 channels on both Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
