Sunderland have confirmed details of their pre-season tour to Ireland in late July.

Roy Keane's side are top of the Championship table and look set to win promotion to the Premiership.

His club will play Bohemians, Cork City and Galway United during their week-long summer tour.

Bohemians host Sunderland in the first of those games on Saturday, July 28th at Dalymount Park.

Cork then open Turner's Cross on Monday, July 30th before the tour concludes at Terryland Park, Galway on Wednesday, August 1st.

The latter game will mark the opening of Galway United's new 1,500 capacity stand.

"There's a marvellous feeling of goodwill between Sunderland and the Irish public," club chairman Niall Quinn said today.

"We're sure the tour will be fantastic for the club and its supporters and there has already been tremendous amount of interest from Sunderland fans wishing to make the journey to Ireland with us."
