Portsmouth sign Baros on loan

Portsmouth have completed the signing of Czech forward Milan Baros from Lyon on loan until the end of the season.

Baros joined Lyon from Aston Villa a year ago but has struggled there, scoring only three goals and starting only six league games.

He passed his Portsmouth medical today and is in line to play in their Premier League game at Manchester United on Wednesday.

Portsmouth have the option to make the deal permanent and manager Harry Redknapp said: "It's a terrific opportunity to have a look at him.

"He's a good player . . . he was the Golden Boot winner at a European championship, he's got pace and makes good runs."
