Pires joins Villareal on two-year deal

Villarreal have signed Arsenal winger Robert Pires on a two-year deal, subject to a medical.

The former France international was out of contract after failing to agree terms on a new deal with the Gunners.

Pires told the club's official website, www.villarrealcf.es: "I am delighted to have signed for Villarreal for the next two seasons and hope to help the club to continue the great work they have done in the past few years."
