Munich prosecutors have responded to claims that people have been questioned with regards to another match-fixing scandal by saying they had not accused anybody and describing the reports as "wrong".

"We have not listed anybody as accused, we have not arrested anybody and we have not invited anybody (for questioning)," a spokesman for the Munich prosecutors said. "This is simply wrong."

Munich daily tz reported in an article released ahead of publication on Friday that Bayern Munich and Germany midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger and two players from second division club TSV 1860 Munich, Quido Lanzaat and Paul Agostino, had been  questioned by police.

A spokesman for the Munich police said he was not aware that any players had been questioned. Bayern and TSV 1860 both declined to comment.
