Ireland's Shane Long scored twice as Reading's second string moved to the top of the Premiership Reserves League with a 2-1 win over Chelsea.

Long, who has made three substitute top-flight appearances for the first team this season, gave the Royals the lead in the 27th minute after lobbing Blues goalkeeper Yves ma-Kalambay.

He doubled his side's advantage eight minutes into the second half by heading home Glen Little's cross before Philip Younghusband pulled one back for Chelsea 14 minutes from time.
