Jermaine Jenas has become the seventh England player to pull out of the squad ahead of Wednesday's friendly against Holland.

The Tottenham midfielder, who was hoping to win his 16th cap in Amsterdam, reported for duty last night but has been sent back to his club for treatment on a calf problem.

Manchester United's Kieran Richardson, the only player involved in last month's defeat to Croatia to be axed from Steve McClaren's original squad, has been called up as a replacement.

Jenas' departure comes less than 24 hours after it was confirmed Gary Neville, Darren Bent, Scott Parker, Stewart Downing and Ledley King would all miss out through injury, while Chris Kirkland will also be absent as his wife is due to give birth to their first child.
