The Republic of Ireland will play Chile in an international friendly at Lansdowne Road on Wednesday, May 24th.
The game gives new manager Steve Staunton another opportunity to call a squad together ahead of the summer break.
"It’s another big game for us," said Staunton today. "I don’t know much about them now but I will in a couple of weeks.
"They’re a typical South American side so it’ll be good for the lads to play against a different kind of style and system."
Ireland then play Holland at home in August before starting their Euro 2008 qualifying campaign against Germany in Stuttgart on September 2nd.
Chile, ranked 66th in the world, earned a 1-1 draw in their last game against the Republic back in 1991.
