A verdict on whether Argentinean defender Gabriel Heinze is to be allowed join Liverpool from Manchester United is due tomorrow, the Premier League has confirmed.
Heinze asked for a three-man panel to decide whether United gave him permission to leave the club for an agreed fee. He claims that he has a letter from United allowing him to leave if a club offered a fee of £6.8million.
United, however, maintain that it was made clear to Heinze both orally and in writing that he would not be permitted to join one a title rival.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and chief executive David Gill travelled to a Premier League arbitration tribunal today to argue the case.
