Liverpool scored twice in four minutes before the interval to come from behind and beat West Ham United 2-1 at Anfield this afternoon.
Striker Bobby Zamora scored his fourth goal in three matches to give the Hammers an early lead with a mis-hit cross from 20 metres that went in over keeper Pepe Reina in the re-match of last May's FA Cup final, won on penalties by Liverpool.
Danish defender Daniel Agger equalised in the 42nd minute with a fine striker from 30 metres into the top corner after advancing unchallenged from the Liverpool half.
Peter Crouch struck the winner four minutes later, taking a good pass from Luis Garcia and rounding goalkeeper Roy Carroll to slot the ball home from six metres.
The result gives Liverpool four points from two matches and spoilt West Ham's chances of spending at least a couple of hours at the top before leaders Manchester United, the only team with two wins, play at promoted Watford later today.
