Roy Keane slates Ashley Young on ITV for apparent dive

‘I think the guy’s a disgrace and if he’s a Man United player I’m a Chinaman,’ says pundit

Roy Keane has called Ashley Young "an absolute disgrace" for an apparent dive in the Champions League match against CSKA Moscow.

Young left his leg in against the defender Georgi Shchennikov in the second-half of United's 1-0 victory in the hope of winning a penalty as United struggled to get on top of their Russian opponents amid growing disquiet among their fans.

“I think the guy’s a disgrace and if he’s a Man United player I’m a Chinaman,” the former captain said on ITV.

“Absolute disgrace, he’s done it far too many times. Look at that. Absolute disgrace. And I just hope players are getting a hold of him, whether it be the manager or some of the senior players.

“That shouldn’t be accepted at Man United. That’s absolutely disgraceful.”

Young was fined by Sir Alex Ferguson and dropped for diving against Aston Villa in 2012 and then warned by David Moyes after he was booked in September 2013 for diving against Crystal Palace. He was again booked for diving under Louis van Gaal at Sunderland in August of last year.
