Wisla Krakow 1 Blackburn 2:David Bentley scored one goal and set up another as Blackburn Rovers came from behind to secure a last-gasp victory in their opening Uefa Cup group game in Poland.

Bentley found the target with a minute to go to seal a storming comeback by Mark Hughes' side.

Robbie Savage, who turned 32 yesterday, equalised in the 56th minute when he headed in Bentley's cross, after Mauro Cantoro had opened the scoring for Wisla Krakow after half an hour.

Blackburn kept up the pressure after the equaliser and the Welshman went close again in the 74th minute after being released by Shabani Nonda.

That sparked Wisla back into action and Brad Friedel was forced into a smart save by Jean Paulista in the 78th minute.

However, Hughes' men secured the points in the final minute to go when Bentley scored from close range after Wisla 'keeper Emilian Dolha did well to keep out efforts from Roberts and McCarthy.

Afterwards, an ecstatic Bentley said: "We are really happy. Coming to a place like this is going to be tough but we showed determination after not getting the start we wanted.

"Robbie has driven us on and kept us going and got us the goal. We went for the win and we got it.

"There are no easy games. We have come here and we are really satisfied," he told BBC Radio Five Live.
