The 25-year-old has been out since the start of February with a hamstring injury and is not due back to action until after the international break, but still travelled to Accra ahead of Saturday’s clash.

Togo coach Jean Thissen has confirmed the 6ft 3ins frontman is firmly in his plans.

England winger Theo Walcott is another player Wenger expects to be fully fit when Barclays Premier League action resumes against Manchester City on April 4th following a knee problem.

With the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Villarreal three days later, Arsenal will also be hoping captain Cesc Fabregas can be available after more than three months out with his serious knee injury.
