Karol Slattery has recovered from injury and is named at left wing back on the Offaly team to play Dublin in the National Football League Division One A game under floodlights at Parnell Park on Saturday night.
Slattery’s return allows Neville Coughlan to move from the half backs to midfield, where he partners Alan McNamee.
In the only other change in personnel from the team that lost to Mayo on February 12th, James Coughlan comes in at right full forward with Thomas Deehan dropping down to the bench.
Meanwhile, four of Galway’s better known hurlers were yesterday driving around in the new Volkswagen Jetta, presented to them by Al Hayes Motors in Portumna.
Hayes wanted to mark the four players’ achievement in winning All Star awards last year as they helped Galway reach the All-Ireland final, with each of them getting their own car for the next 12 months, with insurance included.
Among them was his son Damien Hayes, who won an All Star at left full forward. Defenders Ollie Canning and Derek Hardiman and fellow forward Ger Farragher also received cars.
Hayes and Canning have yet to return to the Galway panel as they prepare for their first All-Ireland club final with Portumna, who meet Newtownshandrum at Croke Park on St Patrick’s Day.
