Holders Skerries Community College are through to the Leinster Schools' Senior Cup Section A semi-final after brushing aside the brave challenge of Scoil Eoin, Athy at King's Hospital yesterday.

Scoil Eoin took an early lead when John Trout crashed over for a try. Skerries responded clinically. Owen Keane nailed three penalties, including the first in the sixth minute, and added the points to right wing Steve Donoghue's try for a 16-5 interval advantage.

After the break hooker Rory Dempsey, centre Damien Kirwan and outhalf John Gavin broke the Scoil Eoin defensive line for tries and Keane converted two of them, to leave the final score at 35-5.

De La Salle, Churchtown and Gorey Community College will have to do it all again afrer a thrilling 3-3 draw at Dr Hickey Park where Noel Barnes and Thomas Kinsella exchanged penalties.
