White to lead Scotland

Jason White, the 27-year-old back-row forward, will captain Scotland in the 2006 RBS Six Nations Championship.

Scotland coach Frank Hadden said: "Jason led by example with outstanding personal performances in our Autumn Tests.

"That is only one of the reasons why I did not hesitate to invite him to have another crack."

White said: "I really enjoyed being captain in the November Tests. To be asked to lead my country again is a vote of confidence from Frank.

"Personally, and as a group of players, we cannot wait for the championship to start and we look forward to putting in some better performances."
