With Keith Earls ruled out for the foreseeable future and new recruit Tyler Bleyendaal’s arrival uncertain due to a serious neck injury, Munster coach Anthony Foley has moved to boost his options in the coming months.
The 22-year-old Howard, a former underage Springbok international who currently plays with Western Province, will arrive on a three-month deal in the coming weeks.
“With players ruled out due to injury and a few other niggles we want to make sure we have a full spread available to us before we enter the next crucial period,” Foley said today. “Howard can provide that additional support.”
