Connacht head coach Pat Lam has confirmed that seven of his current squad will finish with the province at the end of this season.

Current first choice outhalf AJ MacGinty will be one of those, the USA international only joined the province last season but with Athlone native Jack Carty (currently injured) and new signing South African Marnitz Boshoff joining on a two year deal from next season - the 26-year-old will shortly be on the move again.

Others to make way are Fionn Carr, who rejoined the province two seasons ago after a stint with Leinster, Jason Harris-Wright, Aly Muldowney, George Naoupu, Api Pewhairangi and Ian Porter.

Lam says that all seven remain totally committed to finishing this season on a high -

“It’s always a difficult time of year when we have to make decisions about the future makeup of the squad. Within professional rugby, every team sees changes in their squad from one season to the next.

“What we have achieved so far this season, and what remains to be achieved, has come on the back of the hard work of every single player in this current squad. I know everyone is committed and excited to finish the 2015/16 season together on a massive high.

“We recognise and value the contribution these men have made to Connacht Rugby and we will celebrate it together with our supporters at the end of the season.”
