Kidney calls on Quinlan

Alan Quinlan could finally get back on a rugby pitch when Munster take on Celtic League leaders Cardiff this weekend.

Quinlan, part of Ireland's World Cup squad that returned from France on Monday, failed to even make the replacements bench during the tournament and is brought straight back into Declan Kidney's squad for Friday night's match at Musgrave Park.

Also included is Frankie Sheahan, used sparingly by Eddie O'Sullivan but not completely ignored like Quinlan, while Tony Buckley is back in the fold after flying out as cover following Simon Best's withdrawal through illness.

Kidney has afforded the rest of his international contingent, including an out-of-sorts Ronan O'Gara, a weekend off domestic duty as Munster look to build on their 100 per cent start to the campaign.
